I was the trial and sentencing judge on his case in 1993 ... I have never forgotten this case, because the outcome troubled me. The law was served but fundamental fairness was not.

Judge Sharon Tevis Finch

"In a nutshell"

We are not our past crimes; we are the architects of our future. Judge me not for who I was, but show me mercy for the MAN I've become.

Advocacy Work and Activism

Born in Trenton, MI, raised in River Rouge, MI. Played hockey and baseball as a child and teenager. In 1993, at the age of 19, I entered prison convicted of accessory to a felony murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, better known as "Death By Incarceration." My goal is to earn a second chance at life outside of prison, to become an ordained minister helping troubled youth, to complete law school and a PhD, and to teach criminology at the university level.
